The Icehotel

Beautifully placed in Swedish Lapland, The Icehotel remains famous around the world over as the original, and simply the best, hotel made purely from ice and snow.
It is located in Jukkasjarvi, which is in fact 200km north of the Arctic Circle.
Each winter, the hotel is built to new designs, melting back into the River Torne in the spring. The 2014-15 season will be the 25th construction of the Icehotel. The Icehotel is more than just a normal hotel made from ice, it features and rooms are designed by artists from around the world. Alongside 23 Ice rooms there will be 16 Art Suites, 2 Luxury Suites and 18 Northern Lights rooms plus a rather surreal Icebar as well as a first class restaurant. You’ll have the opportunity to eat a variety of foods here including reindeer, elk, grouse and Arctic char oh, and don’t skip on the deserts, they are said to be truly wicked! The restaurant offers an excellent wine list to compliment the food and there is also a Champagne bar.
