Our last post touched on the uninhabited holiday options, yet there are some adventure holidays that on the ‘cast-away’ approach. Some people want to try a truly authentic experience, attempting to survive on their own in the wilds, and whilst tents and huts are provided, you do have to fen for your own food, build fires and basically maintain your health.
There is still time for fun on these holidays and you can have a guide go with you if you’re not entirely confident in your ability, but you will be tested and it’s a holiday for extreme explorers. Some people enjoy nothing more than being left to their own devices and that’s exactly what you get on this type of holiday – if you can call it a holiday.
There is always help at hand in the event of an emergency, but these islands are so remote that the only emergency is not being able to catch enough food. If you’re an enthusiastic explorer then test yourself and try the cast away experience; it will certainly be one that you never forget.
