Packing for a beach holiday abroad

If you are lucky enough to be holidaying abroad when the weather is likely to be warm and sunny it makes packing a lot more straightforward.

Most of us spend the majority of time whilst on holiday on the beach or by the pool so a few items of swimwear are going to be necessary. Try to anticipate whether you and your family will be taking part in any water sports as swimwear for these activities may need to be different.

A good supply of shorts and tee shirts for daytime and lightweight dresses and shirts and trousers for evening wear will need to be packed as some hotels insist that men wear long trousers to dinner.

Travel sized toiletries save space in your luggage and are usually sufficient for a week-long stay.

Sun cream is a must for all the family. A higher factor will be needed initially with some travellers being able to switch to a lower factor as the holiday progresses however children should always be protected from the sun ideally with specially designed swimsuits that cover their arms and a hat.

A first aid kit with the essentials such as paracetamol, indigestion relief, bite and sting cream and antihistamine tablets is well worth packing although many pharmacists abroad will sell common medications if needed.
