If you live up north and you fancy a day out at the beach many will flock to Whitby and after a visit there you can really see why.
Whitby is a lovely little fishing town where the famous story of Dracula is said to have taken place, it’s popular with young families for a great day out at the seaside with plenty to see and do.
The beach is on a bay of golden sand and there is plenty of room there even if it’s a busy day. There are donkey rides available on the beach during peak season for young children and usually a fair that’s running during the summer season too.
Further up into the town there are a few shops with holiday knickknacks and ice creams to buy and even a small Dracula museum to see.
And you can’t possibly spend a day in Whitby without sampling the famous town fish and chips, freshly caught and brought into Whitby harbour that day, delicious!
