It is vital that when travelling abroad you know what you can and can’t take on the aeroplane and also what documents are needed. You will be able to check on the Government website for passport and visa requirements for your chosen destination and your airline will be able to advise you on restrictions they have they you need to adhere to.
Firstly you need to check what luggage allowance you have. You may have hand luggage and hold luggage included in your holiday be but sure to check what the weight limit is and the dimensions of your cases.
Next check what needs to be packed in what bag. For example, all liquids need to go in hold luggage unless under 100 ml in which case they can be in hand luggage but must be sealed in a clear plastic bag and scanned separately at security.
Each airport has its own security systems in place so you may need to remove your shoes, belts and watches/ jewellery when passing through the scanner. All electrical devices must be removed from your hand luggage and placed on the scanner.
If you are in any doubt about what you can and can’t take or where it needs to be stored then contact the airport prior to your departure to check.
