Diving adventure to The Great Barrier Reef

We all contemplate travelling to Australia but because of its daunting travelling time we often avoid it. Approximately, it takes 21 hours and 35 minutes to fly from London to Sydney. However, Australia won’t make you regret taking such a long haul flight with its awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef.

The Great Barrier Reef is listed on the Sevens Wonders of the World and no wonder! Stretching over two thousand kilometres along the eastern coast of Australia, the Great Barrier is a mind-blowing natural wonder, teeming with hundreds of thousands of fish and undiscovered creatures. There is a range of ways to see the kaleidoscopic spectacle, from diving and exploring by boat to a scenic flight or take a stroll along the coastline of a coral-fringed island.
Unfortunately, the Great Barrier Reef is disappearing due to “bleaching” caused by Global Warming, therefore when visiting the reef you must take cautions and abide rules to prevent its beauty disappearing any quicker. Here are a few sustainable travel tips: Whether on an island or in a boat, take all litter with you. Never rest or stand on coral, and don’t harass marine life. When snorkelling, watch where your fins are, do not disturb any coral or kick up any sediments.  Also consider hiring a wetsuit rather than putting on suncream because it can damage the reef.
