Arranging trips for children

There are many companies or groups that arrange trips for children. Many schools offer their pupils to the chance to go away to different places as part of their educational learning. Other groups offer vacations to children that may not usually have the opportunity to go away or that require special care when travelling and staying away from home.

All of these types of trips require vigilant planning and preparation to ensure that it is going to be a safe environment for the participates. Safety is a massive concern and strict risk assessments should be carried out in depth and analysed prior to anyone taking part in an activity. When doing a risk assessment, the holiday should be broken down in to the travel / accommodation and activities. Each area needs to be examined in detail and then risks recorded. From these risks the assessor should determine how likely they are and what the possible outcomes would be should something happen. If the risk comes out as too high, then this travel, accommodation or activity should be avoided or changed to lower the risk.
