Camping trip with a baby

Last year we decided to combine visiting family with a short break on the southern coast of England, we were blessed with lovely warm weather for the three days we were camping and our baby, who had just mastered crawling, quickly befriended two slightly older children camping near to us. It was lovely to see these holiday playmates sharing toys and giggling at one another’s antics and it made our holiday as parents that bit more restful because they were keeping each other entertained. Making holiday friends is, I think an essential part of growing up and if you are holidaying in your own country there is no language barrier to get in the way either. So go for it, say Hello, and encourage your children to do the same, then sit back and let your little darlings create memories that will last a lifetime. You never know, they may become friends for a long time to come.
